Location: The building occupies 2 city blocks on the east side of the Central Business District, bounded by McKinney, Austin, Lamar and San Jacinto Streets, Houston, Texas. Skywalks directly link retail levels with 1 Houston Center, Chevron Tower, the Four Seasons Hotel and Four Seasons Place Apartments, the Houston Center Club and the First City Tower Garage. The building is also directly connected to Houston's underground pedestrian tunnel system.
 
Physical Highlights
Exterior: Spandrel and lower exterior of building consists of king-sized, velour-face, face-brick over 1/2" gypsum sheathing of heavy gauge metal stud wall anchored to building structure. Black anodized aluminum window wall with *”solar gray dual pane glazing
Lobby: Office Tower lobby entries and elevator lobbies at Ground Level have walls clad in polished Sardo Pink granite, with flooring of similar granite paving with polished finish. Painted gypsum board ceilings rise over twenty (20) feet at the entry lobby with recessed fluorescent lighting. The adjacent elevator lobby ceilings of painted gypsum board at 12'-0" with coved incandescent lighting featuring matte black baffles. Fourth level lobby walls are clad in Sardo Pink granite. Lobby flooring consists of flame-cut Sardo Pink granite squares bordered by honed Sardo Pink granite combined with polished Café Brazilian granite in a diamond thatch pattern that is mirrored in relief by the gypsum board ceiling. In front of the passenger elevators, the granite pavers surround a carpet inset. A coved ceiling at 11'-0" with recessed fluorescent light fixtures accent the elevator lobby.
Floors: Twelve floors of office space sit atop three retail levels and one level of parking. Typical floor area is 56,660 square feet. Total net rentable office area is 674,246 square feet.
Views: 4 Houston Center directly faces the George R. Brown Convention Center and Houston Center garden blocks, and is a prime focus of retail and pedestrian activity for both downtown workers and convention visitors.
HVAC: 2,850-ton chilled water system
Parking: 517 spaces on one parking level beneath the building. Additional tenant and visitor parking, accessible via skybridge, is available in the nearby First City Tower Garage and Houston Center Garage 1.
Elevators: 4 Houston Center has two separate elevator banks, with six passenger elevators and one freight elevator per block, serving 56,600 square foot floor plates to offer tremendous space planning flexibility for office tower tenants. Two passenger elevators provide tenant and visitor access to the parking level.
